In order to increase the inducement for foreign people and enterprises to invest in Taiwan, to enhance the transparency of laws and regulations, to complete friendly international living environment as well as to stimulate English service ability within our country, the National Development Council has expanded the service items on “The Executive Yuan Gazette Online” to provide English newsletter subscription service and English title for drafts of regulations and orders on the homepage as of today, to establish friendly legal environment in order for foreign people and enterprises to understand the dynamic ststus for the stipulation (amendment) of regulations as well as drafts of regulations and orders.
The National Development Council publishes “The Executive Yuan Gazette Online” every working day, carrying important matters involving laws for people’s rights from the various agnecies of the Executive Yuan, voluntarily disclosing governmental information to establish the power of regulations and guarantee the rights of the people; the number of browsers for the website has exceeded 5.11 million up until now. In order to create friendly international living environment, the Executive Yuan Gazette Online now features an English version website, providing English table of contents as well as keyword search for every edition of the gazette. A new English version of the Newsletter subscription is available as of September 10th this year (2015), with the content of subscription including every edition of the English Newsletter and drafts of regulations and orders. Moreover, drafts of regulations and orders column on the homepage of “The Executive Yuan Gazette Online” is now in both Chinese and English for convenient reference and application by foreign people and enterprises.

Appendix
Operating Manual for English Newsletter Subscription on the Executive Yuan Gazette Online
I. Go to the homepage of the Executive Yuan Gazette Online (http://gazette.nat.gov.tw/), the column of drafts of regulations and orders on the left is now in both Chinese and English; click on English at the top right hand corner to enter the English version of the webpage.
II. Click on Subscribe of the function list to proceed with the subscription of the English newsletter.
III. First, enter the designated email address, otherwise the subscription items will not show.
IV. After entering the email address, on the left column there are (1) Newsletter, (2) Drafts of Regulations and Orders, (3) Unsubscribe. The page will first display (1) Newsletter; the system will determine whether the email entered already exists in the database. If so, it will display the newsletter subscription selected previously by this email. If not, you will need to tick for subscription again.
V. When the user selects “Subscribe to Drafts of Regulations and Orders” on the left column, the webpage will display 8 types of subscribing chapters. The user may then select the desired chapters of Drafts of Regulations and Orders.
VI. If you need to cancel the subscription, click on “Unsubscribe” on the left column, and the website will terminate the distribution.
