The manufacturing sector failed to grow in August for the second consecutive month. The Taiwan Manufacturing PMI fell 3.6 percentage points to 45.0% in August and registered its lowest reading since July 2012. The Taiwan NMI was 47.5% in August 2015, 4.6 percentage points below the July reading of 52.1%, and is the first reading below 50.0% since August 2014, as well as the lowest NMI reported for the past thirteen months.
